A wide range of nursing topics
Medcom currently offers up to 18 course catalogs containing a total of over 2,300 online courses. Medcom courses provide nurses and allied health professionals with the continuing education credits they need to renew their license, as well as the curriculum for students as part of a nursing or healthcare curriculum.
While many of these courses are common to all healthcare settings, we do offer specific catalogs devoted to long-term care, assisted living, home health care, hospice care, and home care, each with their own unique set of needs and training requirements. We also provide a suite of courses targeted to medical vendor credentialing for sales reps.
Our courses cover an extensive range of fundamental nursing topics such as Anatomy and Physiology, Physical Assessment, Basic Clinical Skills, Diet and Nutrition, Heart and Breath Sounds, Infection Control, and Wound Care. Licensed nurses who are exploring more specialty topics will be interested in our courses on Obstetrics, Oncology, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Pain Management and Wound Care. Of equal importance are topics which protect the rights of the patient, such as HIPAA, Confidentiality, Falls Prevention, Abuse Reporting, Preventing Medical Errors, and Sentinel Events.
Nearly 300 of these topics are available in video format, which makes it a useful way for instructors to demonstrate procedures which cannot be performed in a classroom–or in a textbook. The videos are professionally produced and are helpful to reinforce hands-on procedures.
A helpful tool for nursing instructors
More students are entering nursing and nurse assistant programs. Instructors need more ways to effectively and efficiently provide instruction to larger class sizes by making use of video and online formats to reinforce what they teach in the classroom.
Medcom courses are easily accessible and easy to incorporate into a curriculum.
Streaming video is easy to integrate with lesson plans, such as using video links embedded into a Blackboard or Digital Files. Our T3 Learning Management System can also store all of your students’ records. These videos are great for students to refer back to at their convenience, especially after the in-class lecture is done.
Up-to-date courses you can count on
All course materials are constantly checked and updated to reflect the latest clinical guidelines, procedures, or regulations by a team of Subject Matter Experts who have advanced degrees in nursing and a specialization in the topics they are reviewing.
